Logistics knows no borders: successful commissioning of SuPCIS-L8 at Kramp in Italy

Flexible, high-performance and future-proof warehouse management in Italian: after the Kramp Group, one of the leading suppliers of parts and accessories for Europe's agriculture, decided many years ago in favour of S&P Computersysteme GmbH and the introduction of SuPCIS-L8 at several European locations, the software solution was now also successfully put into operation at the new warehouse in Reggio Emilia (Italy) in July 2021, replacing the previous location. The old location had been relocated by Kramp itself over the last few months. In order to keep the effort for the removal and re-storage low, S&P made additional configurations to the warehouse management system. Overall, the Kramp Group has been present in Italy since 2011 and is not only celebrating its 10th anniversary there this year, but also the opening of the new warehouse complex.

From goods receipt to picking and dispatch: the warehouse management system SuPCIS-L8 controls and optimises the entire logistics processes in the new, 100,000-store logistics centre in Reggio Emilia (Italy). "S&P Computersysteme GmbH has been our reliable and competent IT partner for WMS incl. the conversions, conversions and extensions of dynamic logistics at Kramp for many years. At this point, it was never out of the question for us that we would again rely on the implementation of SuPCIS-L8 as warehouse management software for our new warehouse complex in Italy and the competence of S&P, which they have already proven several times in past cooperation," says Willem Cornelissen, Project Manager at Kramp.

When rolling out the logistics strategy, the two project partners once again focused on the proven, efficient and scalable processes with a high degree of flexibility. In this context, the available interfaces of SuPCIS-L8 make it possible to connect the integrated conveyor technology of KNAPP AG directly to the WMS. The automated Cut'it!™ EVO in-line packaging machine (Ranpak) and the carton erector are controlled in the overall process via the coupling between WMS and conveyor technology. This not only enables smooth interaction between the WMS SuPCIS-L8 and the systems, but also ensures smooth processes in warehousing overall. In order to be able to handle further growth, the system solution also allows for further adaptations and innovative extensions in the future. The user interface of the software is available to Kramp in Italian: "in modo che tutti nel campo capiscano tutto in ogni momento."
