Hazardous substances are processed or stored in a wide variety of industries and in numerous companies. In particular, the handling of such substances within the warehouse as well as further processing and transport to customers poses a number of challenges for logistics. Above all, compliance with legal requirements such as the prohibition of combined storage when storing such substances.

In many companies, hazardous materials are moved around the warehouse without the support of software. Employees often use lists or other "offline solutions" to keep track of storage bans and total quantities of hazardous substances.
