RFID real-time tracking: Small label with big effect - practical example (part 2/2).

The initial situation: Our SuPCIS-L8 warehouse management software in combination with RFID enables real-time tracking and increases transparency in the warehouse. The questions "Where are the goods?", "Which goods have arrived?" and "Is something missing from stock?" are now a thing of the past.

Do you still remember? In the last article, we presented individual part identification. Now we will show you the implementation of RFID technology for container identification.

Practical example: For container identification at a pharmaceutical company, each tub is fitted with two transponders. These ensure unique identification of the tub by means of a tub ID. The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) knows which item is currently being produced. The RFID reader in the warehouse identifies the tubs by reading the respective tub ID via radio frequency. Once the tubs have been filled with goods, the system automatically links the tub ID with the load unit number. This link remains in place in all systems until it is removed by scanning at the system.

Whether individual part or container identification, the combination of RFID and our warehouse management system offers numerous synergies. It enables faster warehouse processes and optimum availability of goods. Increased theft protection, cost reductions and satisfied customers are further advantages.

‍Whatdoes that mean in concrete terms?‍

  1. Improve security and theft protection: RFID monitors valuable goods and increases security. Companies immediately recognize when goods are moved without permission and can act immediately.
  2. Achieve cost savings: The reduction of errors, theft and inventory losses as well as the optimization of storage and transport processes lead to considerable savings.
  3. Increase customer satisfaction: Real-time information on the status and position of goods enables more precise delivery dates and faster responses to customer inquiries.

Who is it suitable for? Regardless of the industry, this combination is useful wherever goods need to be registered and tracked quickly and easily, taking technical restrictions into account.
