Griaßgodd I'm Moritz - a real Stuttgart boy with a penchant for accuracy and cleanliness. (laughs) With a big brother and two older sisters, I'm a real family man. But I'm also a project manager who has been passionately involved with S&P | Element Logic since May 2021.

"As a career changer without a degree and with little project management experience, I had no chance at many companies. It's different at S&P | Element Logic. It's not just what's on paper that counts, but above all your personality and motivation."

I originally wanted to become a chef, but the working hours put me off. However, my passion for cooking remained and is still a huge thing for me today. After secondary school, I was left empty-handed and completed a voluntary social year in a kindergarten. It was a cool time, but nothing for my future. However, I've been known and loved by my siblings and friends as "The Kindergarten Teacher" ever since. (laughs)

Training as an office communications clerk was a step in the right direction. My teacher was Naturgut, the organic supermarket chain in Stuttgart. I absorbed a lot of knowledge about how nutrition and environmental issues are connected and learned a lot about animal welfare. These topics are still very important to me today.

After my apprenticeship, I became an assistant to the management and gained my first experience in project management. That fascinated me. So I did a specialist in office and project organization at the same time. Exam in November 2020 - check. But where to apply my knowledge? Unfortunately, the possibilities were exhausted at Naturgut.

As a career changer, many doors slammed in my face until I came across S&P | Element Logic through my brother-in-law Marcel. A stroke of luck. Marcel is a kindergarten friend of our Managing Director Rémy. The spark was immediately ignited and I got the job. I am so grateful for this opportunity.

"We have a great atmosphere - flexible working according to my biological rhythm and a community that is genuine."

‍Myworking day starts at home with a coffee and a chat with my wife. Then it's off to the office on the subway. First I get an overview of the current projects, chat with my colleague and check what tasks are pending. Flexibility and initiative are essential, because no two days are the same in project management.

We don't have typical 9-to-5 working hours, everyone works to their own rhythm. There is organic fruit in the office and the kitchen and bar are always well stocked. We can help ourselves to anything: Drinks, coffee, tea, milk or after-work beer. Cooking sessions take place every now and then at lunchtime. I really appreciate that and it's by no means normal for me. It's also about the surroundings that make working here attractive.

‍Butwhat makes my job so special? I love the versatility that takes me into different industries and presents me with new challenges every day. I plan, manage and monitor ongoing projects and keep an eye on all the tasks of the individual departments. However, we tend to work in the background and another team takes care of commissioning on site.

From communicating with customers to creating additional offers and weekly meetings, I make sure that everything runs smoothly. The focus is on quality and efficiency. If customers and colleagues are satisfied in the end and the project is successfully completed on time and on budget, I'm satisfied too.

What skills will help me? My job requires me to work independently. I work in a structured and organized way and communicate openly with customers and my team. Thinking outside the box is just as important. This means considering things before and after a process in order to get other people on board and plan ahead. We work with various tools to do this. You should definitely be up for it.

Speaking of cravings: I lose them when I think of sweets, cakes or desserts. Yes, that's right, I score points with savory things. My colleagues in the office are happy - there's more for them when someone brings a sweet treat. (laughs)

Back to the job: what I love is that everyone can get involved. Every idea is heard and examined, regardless of the hierarchy. People don't just talk here, they also act, and you can feel that every day. If something doesn't fit, a solution is sought. The culture is characterized by openness, support and a strong sense of community - teamwork is very important.

"Further training is absolutely desired and encouraged here. Whether it's a training course, a logistics event or a tour of a customer warehouse. The doors are open."
Working together as a team is the be-all and end-all for Moritz.

So now you know a few things about my working life, but what do I do in my private life?

When I was born, I probably already had a wooden spoon in my hand - okay, maybe not quite, but almost. I always thought cooking was cool. A restaurant internship didn't turn into a job, but it did become a great passion.

I love trying out new recipes and letting off steam in the kitchen. But be careful, I have a strict sense of order - a touch of Monk, as my wife says. And it likes to make itself felt when she's cooking and everything is standing around. That's terrible. (laughs) Even when I'm cooking, I clean up the mess. A clean kitchen is a happy Moritz.

Yes, I confess that everything has to be accurate and clean for me, whether at home or at work. When my wife loads the dishwasher, I often have to readjust it. One spoon on the right, one on the left - that's not possible, everything has to point perfectly in one direction. Even at my workplace, I put everything in the right place in the evening. I'm working on keeping my inner Monk in check. (laughs)

When I'm not in the kitchen, you'll probably find me exercising. In the gym if the weather is bad, otherwise on my e-bike. I love being out in nature and riding my bike to work. It's a refreshing way to start the working day.

In summer, my wife and I can be found on the water SUP (stand-up paddling). It definitely fits in with S&P by name. We also enjoy spending time with friends and family or going on long-distance trips.

But what is particularly important to me and my wife. To inspire more people to protect nature and animals. It's a matter close to our hearts.
