Hello everyone! I'm Julia, mother of two little boys and I joined S&P | Element Logic in September 2022. I juggle my job as Team Lead Customer Success part-time, while at the same time maneuvering my family business at home. But you know what? This is exactly the combination I love - because I have a good work-family balance.

You're probably wondering how that works? Quite simply: thanks to an employer like this. I have a tandem management position with a colleague. We complement each other perfectly in terms of tasks and working hours. I organize my working day so that it fits in perfectly with my family life. I currently work three days a week. If my situation changes, I know it can be done. Having this flexibility is worth its weight in gold, especially for parents who want to return to work.

"I've always found S&P | Element Logic to be a cool and hip company. So I'm all the more pleased to have found my home here - it just fits."

‍Mycareer path was a ride through the world of logistics and fashion. I trained as a forwarding agent, coupled with a dual degree in business administration at fashion logistics service provider Meyer & Meyer, which I now support as a customer. (laughs) I added a full-time business administration degree with a focus on logistics. I then returned to Meyer & Meyer and gained my first management experience. After a brief stopover at Takko Fashion, I joined Gerry Weber as Head of IT and Logistics Processes. After 7 years break: parental leave.

But enough about the past. Through serendipity and a pinch of fate, I ended up here after my parental leave. Because of my career, I knew S&P | Element Logic. A chance conversation with Bodo*, who works at our site in Georgsmarienhütte, got the whole thing rolling. *(Former colleague at Meyer & Meyer and now my tandem management partner).

My greatest strength? My husband says I'm very enthusiastic. When I'm on fire for something, there's no stopping me and I'm fully committed to it. I also bring this energy to my job. Here I feel like I'm part of a movement that is shaking up the logistics world and having fun at the same time. Weaknesses? Sometimes I want too much at once and stumble. Then I have to remind myself to take one step at a time. Perfectionism is my middle name, but I'm working on taking things one step at a time. (laughs)

Speaking of team lead: I've never really committed myself to that. But it suits my nature. It's in my blood to tackle and lead things. I started out as a project manager and within a year I was team leader again. I can't do without it. (laughs)

So what's it like here? The atmosphere is great and the team is full of ideas. I can develop myself and have a team that supports and inspires me. Flexibility, appreciation and independent work make S&P | Element Logic a great employer. The focus is always on the future. I can contribute my ideas and help to ensure that our customers are satisfied.

"For us, it's not just success at work that counts, but also well-being and a good work-life balance for our employees."

‍Mytasks? There are a lot of them. I'm responsible for managing projects and looking after our existing customers. From budget, resource and time planning to customer communication. I'm right in the thick of things and love finding solutions and driving optimization. I also take care of personnel development and planning and support my team as the first point of contact. Training new employees is also one of my tasks.

What do you need for this job? Organizational talent is definitely a must. But you also need good interpersonal skills, especially when you're bridging the gap between the customer and the development team. Strong communication skills, quick comprehension, curiosity and the will to drive things forward - these are the qualities that help me every day. We have a lot of customers and new topics pop up every day that we have to get to grips with.

But do you know what the best thing about my job is? The opportunity to actively make a difference. I can contribute my logistical know-how and bring structure to work processes. That's easier in a small company than in a large one. But the feeling when I see that my work is appreciated at the end of the day is priceless.

One more thing about logistics: it is the industry of the future and forms the backbone of our modern world. Nothing works without it. Even my mother said to me back then: You can think LOGI, then LOGIstics would be something for you. She was right. (laughs)‍

"The opportunity to use my enthusiasm for logistics and process optimization to make the company successful is great."

‍Whatkind of guy am I in my private life?
A guy who rolls up his sleeves and takes matters into his own hands. But that only works after a coffee - from a cup with a very thin rim. It's a quirk of mine. (laughs) I also always need a hot lunch, otherwise I get in a bad mood. Some people only eat an apple. I always think to myself: Wow ... I'd fall off my chair. (laughs)

When I'm not keeping my home tidy (yes, I confess, I have a tidying tick), you'll probably find me in a yoga session or on the tennis court. Tennis is my latest hobby - I'm hooked. It started with a beginner's course that I attended with my five "Muddi friends". Since then, we've been tennis giants who meet up once a week and have a lot of fun.

Yoga has been with me for years. At first, I thought I needed something that would exhaust me. But yoga has shown me that slowing down is exactly what I need. It's my personal time to shake off the stress of everyday life and ground myself.
