  • Greatest strength: fearlessness, throws himself into everything.
  • Trademark: Her smile and her good humor.
  • The most important equipment on the job: scribbles and a digital whiteboard for spontaneous ideas.
  • Fun fact: She has absolutely no sense of direction, without Google Maps she is lost.

Hi, I'm Rebecca and my life feels like a wild rollercoaster ride right now - but in a positive way. I love equestrian sports, can't live without to-do lists (laughs) and have been with S&P | Element Logic since April 2023. Started with my bachelor's thesis, now Associate Product Manager.

My path into logistics? Not planned, but just right.
If someone had told me when I was at school that I would end up in the logistics industry, I would probably have shaken my head. I actually wanted to join the army and become an air traffic controller. I was already fascinated by the idea of "everything has to mesh perfectly" back then, and that's exactly what excites me about logistics today.

I gained my first professional experience during my school days as a mini-jobber at a company that built propeller machines. My father knew the boss. I built assembly trolleys, painted paint booths and booked incoming goods. My first contact with logistics (laughs). I stayed there for four years and realized that I thrived in a technical environment.

After graduating from high school, I studied industrial engineering with a focus on production management. Later, I immersed myself even more in the field of product management. Why? Because I love driving things forward and helping to shape them. It was also the perfect combination of technology and business.‍‍‍‍‍

‍How didI come to S&P | Element Logic? Through a chance encounter. Shortly before my semester abroad in Dublin, a colleague from Porsche - where I was a working student - told me about Rémy, the CEO and the company at a barbecue. I googled it, found it interesting and sent Rémy a message via LinkedIn. The rest is history. First thesis, then career entry, first projects and now in the middle of product management.

"Although I was fresh out of university, I was fully integrated from day one. It's not your age or title that counts here, but how you contribute."

I felt at home at S&P | Element Logic right from the start. The transition to professional life was smooth. First project management, then some consulting and finally product management. We accompany software products from the idea to market maturity. It's about recognizing what's needed, where there's a problem and which solution will bring the greatest benefit.

Our tasks include:‍

  • Continuous exchange with customers, also on site
  • Strategy discussions with the development and design department and other teams
  • Developing concepts and solutions
  • Create and test prototypes
  • Obtain feedback from users on new functions, user-friendliness and designs
  • Analysis of markets and customer requirements

I love the mix of communication, technology and creativity.

Our aim is to understand what the problem really is. This requires strong communication skills, the ability to think abstractly, curiosity, persistence and a genuine interest in finding the root cause. I am the one who probes: "Why? What's behind it?". Even if it sometimes annoys others (laughs). But that's the only way we can find the best solution. Of course, we also check whether it adds value for us and fits into the product portfolio.

"I am given an enormous amount of trust and flexibility. I am allowed to work independently, contribute to decisions and am always encouraged to think outside the box."

‍Myday starts with a cold coffee (it's a tradition) because I let one out in the morning but never drink it in time (laughs). Then I check my Outlook and my to-do lists. I'm a to-do list specialist (laughs). I love them. Not only at work, but also in my private life. When I wake up at the weekend and think "Oh crap, there's so much to do today", I sit down and write everything down - preferably in the perfect order. Sounds nerdy? It is a little bit. But it makes me productive and goes faster.

It's also very stressful sometimes. But that's exactly my thing. That's when I switch into my personal high-performance mode. I need that feeling of slight time pressure and "now it's getting tight". What stresses others out gets me up to operating temperature. And when my list empties? Then I get restless. (laughs).

What do I like best about S&P | Element Logic? The people! Of course the variety in the job, but my colleagues are particularly important to me. If a day was really good, it was definitely due to strong team spirit. I still remember the first spring party or the trip to Norway - that was special.

What makes me tick at work? I'm very pragmatic, but sometimes too nice. (laughs) I often say yes, even when I should say no - but I'm working on it. I take on more than I should, simply because I want to help. I also have a good feel for people. For what is unspoken. I can quickly tell if someone means something honestly.

"During my first week of maintenance, I was grateful that my colleagues gave me a helping hand - otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do it. That's how teamwork works. That was really cool."

‍Andin private? I'm a real bundle of energy, the little hungry caterpillar (laughs). Sit still? Difficult. Unless I'm really knocked out. I always have tons of ideas and new projects in my head. My husband doesn't understand that at all, he's really good at it when it comes to sleeping, chilling or relaxing (laughs). But opposites attract, as we all know.

My strengths and weaknesses? On the one hand, I'm a good listener, but on the other, I also like to talk in between. That's because of my Spanish temperament. My mother is Spanish. Everyone in my family talks out of turn and interrupts each other. My husband goes crazy when we're in Spain (laughs).

My life outside of work?
Show jumping used to be the absolute focus of my life. I rode competitions, even internationally for Spain, up to advanced level. I sacrificed a lot, but I also learned a lot, for example discipline and determination. Today I ride once or twice a week, without any pressure to perform, just for fun.

I am currently trying out new hobbies. I'm registered with Wellpass* (company fitness), swim regularly and do yoga. Oh yes - and dance classes. Because of the wedding in summer. That will be a challenge because my boyfriend dances really well. But hey, as you know, you grow with your tasks (laughs).

What else do I do in my free time? Going for a walk! Yes, it sounds stuffy, but it's my absolute me-time. I listen to music, podcasts or audio books. When I walk past houses, I like to watch people and look at their gardens. I love these little everyday stories that tell themselves. We also like to explore the world and love hiking and skiing.

*EGYM Wellpass is a corporate fitness program that companies can offer their employees as a health benefit. A Wellpass membership gives employees unlimited access to over 10,000 sports and wellness facilities in Germany and Austria, including gyms, yoga studios, swimming pools, climbing gyms and online courses. S&P | Element Logic covers part of the costs, so that the membership fee is only €24 per month.
