Product of the Year 2021: S&P Computersysteme GmbH wins in the "Software" category

S&P Computersysteme GmbH was voted "Product of the Year 2021" in the software category in this year's readers' poll of the intralogistics trade medium materialfluss with the topic "Warehouse Healing: Reducing journey times through intelligent algorithms and the WMS SuPCIS-L8".

S&P Computersysteme GmbH convinced the jury in the nomination and the readers of the trade journal materialfluss with its innovative new development "Warehouse Healing: path time reduction through intelligent algorithms and the WMS SuPCIS-L8" and was chosen as the winner in the category "Software". Within the scope of the readers' choice, in which more than 20,000 votes were cast, S&P's innovative solution prevailed. "We are delighted with the choice and thank the readership for their interest. It is a nice example that digitalisation in the warehouse is not just an empty phrase, but actually produces new ideas and products with great benefits for the users." S&P Managing Directors Horst Reichert and Rémy El Abd thanked presenter Martin Schrüfer, Editor-in-Chief of WEKA Business Medien, during the digital award ceremony.

The minimisation of walking times through the intelligent placement of products is currently attracting a great deal of interest within the logistics industry. The innovation "Warehouse Healing" by S&P Computersysteme GmbH can drastically reduce the transit time in manual and automatic warehouses. This is achieved, among other things, by analysing the order history in order to uncover product affinities and classic order frequencies. A healing algorithm, which improves itself using machine learning methods, generates stock transfer suggestions and changes putaway suggestions to minimise the distances to be covered during picking. The improved state in the warehouse can be maintained with little ongoing effort, because stock transfers with the greatest effect are always determined and suggested first.

Since 2020, the intralogistics trade medium materialfluss has initiated the Product of the Year election and lets the readers decide. With the award, the trade medium materialfluss primarily aims to make the exciting and innovative products and projects from intralogistics and logistics visible and to have them chosen by the most expert jury, the readers. What the readers like and vote for will be awarded a prize. 79 products in a total of 8 categories were selected for the "Product of the Year 2021".
